Last week, the European Jewish Congress sent a letter to the Italian Football Federation following recent anti-Semitic actions by supporters of the Lazio club.
A few days earlier, during the match against Cagliari team, Lazio fans had lined the stands of stickers representing Anne Frank wearing a jersey of AS Roma, the other team of Rome. In response to this anti-Semitic act, the Italian Football Federation decided that a minute of silence would be observed in the stadiums before the matches of the next day and that a passage in the Journal of Anne Frank would be read to denounce this diversion . She also said the club would take 200 young fans to Auschwitz every year.
Following the interpellation of the European Jewish Congress, the Italian Football Federation assured them that everything was done to condemn the hidious acts of the supporters.
