#CRIF- Francis Kalifat wrote to French Minister of Foreign Affairs and ambassadors about UNESCO's coming vote on the Cave of the Patriarchs

Francis Kalifat, President of the CRIF, wrote to Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and ambassadors about next UNESCO Heritage Committee at Cracow.

In his letter, F. Kalifat asks the Minister “to do everything possible to ensure that France weighs all its influence along with the 21 member countries of the UNESCO Heritage Committee” in order to counter an unjust resolution aiming at "Palestinizing" Jewish holy places such as the Holy Patriarchal Cave in Hebron, another holy site of Judaism.

He asks the Minister to oppose all attempts at political instrumentalisation by UNESCO whose vocation and action must remain cultural and educational. For many years, the Palestinian Authority has launched an offensive aimed at passing texts whose sole purpose is to deny Jewish historical presence in this region.
