Crif - French elections: Crif stands on its position "No extreme right, no extreme left"

As the French legislative elections will be held on June 30 and July 7, the President of Crif reaffirmed the position of Crif, rejecting the extremes, "on one side a nationalist populist project, on the other the “antisemitism of the extreme left".

Judicial victory against Israel’s Exclusion from the Eurosatory Exhibition of Defense and Security

From June 17 to 22, 2024 was held in Villepinte the Eurosatory International Terrestrial Defense and Security exhibition, where 2,000 exhibitors from many countries are expected to attend. On May 31, the French government announced there was to be “no stall of the Israeli Defense Industry” during the exhibition's 2024 edition.

New UNESCO report warns that Generative AI threatens Holocaust memory

A UNESCO report published today warns that unless decisive action is taken to integrate ethical principles, AI could distort the historical record of the Holocaust and fuel antisemitism. The report cautions that not only can Generative AI enable malicious actors to seed disinformation and hate-fueled narratives, but it can also inadvertently invent false or misleading content about the Holocaust.

WJC Executive Committee Meets With President Herzog and Visits Southern Kibbutizm During Solidarity Mission

The World Jewish Congress concluded a meeting of the organization’s Executive Committee on June 23rd, following a two-day solidarity mission that included visits to sites associated with the October 7th attacks and a meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog at his official residence, to gain a fuller understanding of the challenges Israelis now face.

Minister of Foreign affairs and Development Laurent Fabius declared "I condemn the kidnapping of three young Israelis in the West Bank and shares the concerns of families and Israeli authorities. I call for their immediate release. All efforts must converge towards this goal. France is particularly concerned about the increasing violence during the recent days in the West Bank and Gaza. 

UNESCO Director-General calls for the protection of all religious heritage in Syria, after the destruction of historical synagogue in Damascus

The UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova, has learnt with dismay of the destruction of the historical synagogue of Eliyahu Hanabi in Damascus.

“The destruction of the oldest synagogue in Syria is a new blow against its religious and cultural heritage, which has already suffered tremendous damage.

Four people murdered after shooting at Jewish Museum in Brussels, Belgium. Two of the four victims confirmed to be Israelis. Two Jews assaulted in front of synagogue in Paris.

In response, David Koschitzky, Chair of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), issued the following statement: “The Jewish community of Canada is deeply saddened and appalled by the senseless loss of life in Brussels yesterday afternoon.
