The former Israeli Prime Minister was visiting France invited by his counterpart Edouard Balladur, acting in his position as President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, France’s lower house of Parliament.
Welcomed by Roger Cukierman, the President of CRIF, together with the members of CRIF’s executive and several presidents of major Jewish community organizations, Benyamin Netanyahou expressed his pleasure at the “improved” relations between Paris and Jerusalem and “the change in the French perception.” The head of the Israeli opposition expressed his concern over the Iranian nuclear threat. For him, there is no guarantee that the world will succeed in dissuading the Iranian regime from going ahead, because it is driven by “a radical ideology that is willing to sacrifice millions of people.”
