The centenary of the Law of 1905 on secularity was celebrated by the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences. Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy opened the commemorative event. He explained that he wished to adjust the 1905 law. He welcomed having organized a representative body of Muslims in France, the CFCM. In the presence of Roger Cukierman, Nicolas Sarkozy also thanked the CRIF for having met the UOIF – the fundamentalist wing of CFCM - and for inviting local representatives of the CFCM to its regional diners.
