During the crisis : first CRIF press release - An assassination of democracy

CRIF is horrified by the attack that took place this morning at the headquarters of Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 people. It extends his condolences to the families of the victims. This act of Islamic terrorism, deep cowardice hits the French Republic and democracy in the heart, attacking a symbol of freedom of expression.
This attack in central Paris is part of a global struggle of Islam against the West. The terrorists have the same ideology as those who advocate Sharia law in Syria, Iraq, Mali, Gaza and now in Paris. France must fight without reserve Islamism in all its forms, particularly in its ideology and recruitment.
CRIF will partner with all Republican initiatives that will emphasize national unity against terrorism and the determination of the entire nation against jihadism.
